The outer side of house is in the final stage. Alex has completed all part of the roof. My task in this week is still painting. 🙂 Alex has cut some woods into L Shape, they are for the window frames, they look super nice and it gives the house a nice touch, I really like this finishing. It is a lot of works though =p
Between, this is my cozy corner in the WG close to our workshop. Thanks to the people in the WG, let us stay while we are building the house.
This week we have done a lot of different small tasks. There is a lot of painting jobs for me. I painted the whole house again and also have put silicon all around window from inside.
We also tried to weigh the house today to find out if we can tow the house. Thanks Samuel and Philip, friends from Alex have spent their time in the rain helping us to weigh the house. Unfortunately, we didn’t know how to use the device correctly, it showed 9000kg. Then we gave up in trying and tried to find other way to bring the house. We were hoping the house is below 3.5 tons and Alex is willing to bring the house to us. I just worried about the transport, it is 550km away from Regensburg, it is better to use special transport than towing it all the way to the north.
We received our windows and door on the second week of September. I was not in Regensburg, so Alex helped us receiving them. Then we were away 2 weekend for holiday, I missed the process of installing windows and door. Alex has done it all when I returned.
What I understand is he put a material called Dichtungband around the window frames and door frame, this material will expand after installing and it is waterproofed and it also has the effect like insulation.
We ordered our windows and door from https://www.sparfenster.de/ because they have windows that allow us opening to outside. The material of the frames are Alu/Holz. It takes about 2 months from ordering to delivering. We don’t know how good is the quality yet, we will find out after living in 🙂
